A pair of baby quilts made to sell.
June 17 - Civil War quilt completed - to be donated to 'Wounded Warriors' program. As per elsewhere on this site, we suffered a devastating flood June 20th.  This was our beloved long-arm as the water was rising to the light bar.  Fortunately we were able to carry the carriage upstairs before it suffered any damage.  Needless to say, our long-arm activity has ground to a halt.  Hopefully we will resume in the Spring of 2014.
April 11th and we're back with an Autopilot purchased from our High River dealer but shipped to Yuma from the factory in Texas.  It didn't take us long to get the long-arm up and running with new leaders and minimal parts required.  Next was to install the machinery and electronics for automatic sewing.  Pictured here is the 'Y axis' motor on the left and the 'X axis' one on the right.
Double belts drive the carriage back and forth with the motor now enclosed on the left and the other end idler pulleys on the right.
A Windows 8 touch-screen computer drives the electronics and motors.
Lucy's king-size 'uniform' quilt nearing completion. I learned from my friend Grady in Yuma that a Gammil laser 'target' aimed into the foot (needle hole) is very beneficial.  Here you can see the result of my most recent modification.
To accomplish it, I took the front laser mount off which I had purchased but never used.  Acquire a washer and bolt, and drill a hole in the Lightning Stitch mounting plate.  See the dot where I drilled. Assemble the laser mount to the front plate.
Mount the laser as shown.  It does not get in the way of the Lightning Stitch display.  To make the laser beam as tiny as possible, I put a piece of masking tape over the laser opening and poked a small hole with a needle in the tape.  Boy, does it ever work like a charm!
Lucy's huge 109 by 116 inch quilt ready for binding.  Arlene made it entirely from Lucy's retired hospital uniforms that were replaced by new single-colour ones.
We duplicated Grady's Diamond Wedge, P2P Vine, and Feather Wreath patterns. Getting comfortable with programming entire quilts all at once.
This one done for a friend.  With 'Minky' backing it should have been a challenge but our Innova handled it easily.
We got fancy doing "Amy's Passion" quilt.  Note 'ABC's, Feather Heart borders, Scallops, Heart Blocks, and Floral Hearts.

"Snowball" done with large 'Flirtations".

Nice baby blanket print.

"It's Not Easy Being Green" we did with a frog border, meandering center, and 'Ribbit Block' corners.

"Rail Fence" quilted with 'Meander Anything'.

'Summer in the Park' quilted with 'Featheration'.

Yes, it is possible to long-arm table runners too.

'Dragons'  Good long-arm learning on this fancy one.

Arlene made this one up from scrap.

Long-arm in feather motif.  Turned out great.

Back of 'Sweetie Pie' quilt to show Hobo Bear pattern.

Front of Sweetie Pie. Arlene custom table runner.
Long-armed with Twirl Block and Swan Triangle - turned out extremely well!
'What a Hoot' quilt with 'Contempo' edge to edge pattern. 'Simply a Pleasure' table runner -
Our first Cross Hatch long-arming.  Came out perfect. and so easy to do.  June 9th and this is our 19th long-arm project since returning from Yuma. This one is done in a square interlocked pattern.  Hard to see from picture but very effective.
June 17th.  A table runner ready for binding.  LA'd with various feather patterns.  Really nice.
The back of it is easier to see the pattern. This one is 'leftover scraps'.
Back of scrap quilt showing 'bear paw' and 'swan' long-arming. Another cross-hatched table runner.
A colorful customer's quilt featuring maple leaf appliqués.
We long-armed it with a maple leaf pattern and variegated thread.  Really nice. We like doing table runners . . .
This for a craft box - we tried out a 'bubbles' pattern. '9 Patch' table runner . . .
Long-arming came out nice using inserted blocks. 8-sided star 'New Orleans'

Bios produces waves. Anne #2.
Charity work done for 'Victoria Quilts Canada'. Anne #3.
Quilted panel for cut up to make boxes. Anne #4

Baby "I Love You" panel.  Quilted with dragonflys.

Baby animal panel.  Quilted with 'animal crackers'.

Christmas center piece quilted with holly pattern. Christmas tree hanging.
Junior size quilted with butterflies. 'Saduky' quilted with Heart and Circle blocks.
We traveled to Courtenay in August and Arlene acquired much quilting stuff.  So much, in fact, we had to rent a U-Haul trailer to get it all home.
$18 total fee to rent in Courtenay and drop off in High River - seems an over abundance of trailers on the island resulted in bargain rates to locate them elsewhere.  Wonderful. Quilted in Yuma.
'Peggy's Quilt'
Finally got enough fabric to make a matching pillow cover for our bed.
Good use of square 'Contempro' quilting. Scratch built.
'Sisters' photo and hand quilting in boxes. 'Square Blocks' and Contempro.

We named this one 'Jello' - Interlocking Heart. Fall runner - Pumpkins Galore with Cornucopia in circles.

These two were basted (big squares using 1 stitch per inch) in preparation for hand quilting.
